White - Morph Gyrfalcon

A mixed media polymer clay sculpture of a White - Morph Gyrfalcon.
The sculpture is made with naturally moulted feathers that have been hand painted.

The eyes are made of black onyx.

Measurments: 3 inches (7.62 cm) from the top of the head to the tip of the tail.

Thank you yes, I use Super Sculpey and other kinds of polymer for the basic sculpt and then make faux fur or use feathers to cover them.  There's an online shop called the polymer clay pit that has a good variety of clay if you are interested.…

Thanks for the tip! I'll check it out :) I'm currently using epoxy and DAS Clay, but fine detail is not my friend...
BTW Where do you find feathers in that mini-sizes? are they real or fake?

They are real feathers. I collect,sterilise and then dye or paint them, then I cut them down to the size that I need. It's a lot of work but it is worth it as I can customise their colours and size. ;) (Wink)

Try Sculpey living doll, that's a nice clay to work with. Use a small surgical scalpel as well if you don't already, they are better for fine detail.
